Wenty Weekly Wrap-Up 2018

Rnd 8 v’s Mounties 32 - 6 Today we were away to Mounties, Keith proudly captaining the team today. We knew it was going to be tough, playing one short against a much bigger side than ours. The boys started confidently, looking organised with the ball and defending really well. First points came via a try from Archie, dummying and darting down the blind to dive over in the corner, Declan converting for a 6-0 lead. It wasn’t long before Ethan carved his way through to extend the led to 10 points. Great defence turned Mounties away again and again, and right before half time Keith showed his skills cutting his way through for a try. Mana converted to go to the break 16-0. The boys started the 2nd half we they left off, Jayden showing great footwork going straight through the defence to dive over next to the post. He converted his own try to led 22-0. The boys were off their feet at times, defending one short made it tough at times. Keith once again showed us his talent crossing for his 2nd try of the day, Hame kicking the extras for a 28-0 led. With only minutes left Declan darted through and over for a 4 pointer. As the hooter sounded Mounties finally busted our defence to make the final score 32-6. All the boys played well, Archie had an outstanding game, Jayden had his best of the year running like we know he can, Mana played well, Liam Bell tackled awesome and Declan had his usual great game. Today’s coaches award had to go to Keith, two tries, great defence and constanly breaking the line. Well done Keith. Fantastic effort today boy’s, playing short and defending really well all game.
